General improvements
Updates to Compliance Prints for Canadian ELD (Note: These updates have also been made available in the previous release, 2101)
To comply with Canadian ELD regulations, we've added the following data to the Geotab Drive compliance print:
- Day Starting Time — the start time of the driver’s shift
- Operating Zone — a number that indicates where the asset is operating:
- 1 = Canada, South of latitude 60°N
- 2 = Canada, North of 60°N
- 3 = United States
- Total Hours — total hours in the current shift
- Total Hours in Cycle — total number of hours worked in the cycle
- Remaining Hours in Cycle
- Additional Hours not Recorded
- Table containing any changes to Driver’s Cycle, Change in Operating Zone, or Use of Off-duty events with their pertaining details
- Table containing any comments, remarks and annotations with their related details
In addition, the following data has been added to MyGeotab:
- Driver ID — the driver’s username
- Operating Zone — a number that indicates where the asset is operating:
- 1 = Canada, South of latitude 60°N
- 2 = Canada, North of 60°N
- 3 = United States
- Total Hours — total hours in the current shift
- Total Hours in Cycle — total number of hours worked in the cycle
- Remaining Hours in Cycle
- ELD malfunction status, including the malfunction code
- Driver's data diagnostic status, including the diagnostic code
Updates to section names in MyGeotab and the Drive App
We have renamed certain terms in our applications to be more user friendly for users in any global region:
- DVIR has been renamed to Asset Inspection
- Inspection Mode has been renamed to Roadside Check
Updates to DVIR Reports
- To be consistent with the Drive App, the Defect Severity column in DVIR reports now uses Minor and Major as the severity types instead of Normal and Critical.
- The Trailer Column will be blank for completed vehicle inspections. In previous releases, “** No Trailer” would be displayed.
Updates to Yard Move Exemption for Canadian users
To comply with Canadian ELD regulations, the Yard Move exemption will be automatically removed when the vehicle exceeds 32 kph (20 mph). This only applies to Canadian drivers.
For drivers operating outside of Canada, the Yard Move exemption can still be configured by administrators (such as changing the speed threshold, or disabling Yard Move when the vehicle exits a certain zone type).
SDK updates
Added support for Add-Ins to use the Camera APIs
Drive App Add-ins now have the ability to use the App's camera permissions and functionality, allowing the user to take a picture or upload an existing picture.
Refer to the sample code below:
api.mobile.camera.takePicture().then((media) =>
{
// do something with the base64 returned
console.log(media);
}
);
