Azu's journey at Geotab is a testament to the power of curiosity, dedication, and the transformative impact of data. Starting in product support, answering the front lines of customer calls, she quickly distinguished herself with a keen ability to not just solve problems, but to envision and implement solutions. Those early days taught her so much about Geotab's products and the diverse needs of its customers. More importantly, they sparked a desire to go beyond troubleshooting and actively contribute to improvement.

With the support of her managers, Azu's career trajectory shifted towards consultancy, allowing her to explore and develop her own ideas. "Geotab fostered a culture of innovating and developing for the future," she explains. "They gave me the space to experiment, to propose new tools and processes, and they invested in my growth." This support manifested in tangible opportunities, allowing her to delve deeper into the world of data, primarily within Google BigQuery. Her typical day now involves navigating complex customer requests and crafting internal tools, work that directly impacts the efficiency and effectiveness of Geotab's operations. "It's about translating data into actionable insights," she states, "and seeing those insights drive positive change is incredibly rewarding."

One of Azu's proudest accomplishments is her pivotal role in developing the data framework for Geotab's Innovation Awards. "It was a collaborative effort, and the communications team deserves immense credit for bringing the vision to life," she emphasizes. "But to see the tangible impact of my data work transformed into a physical award was truly special." This project exemplifies Azu's ability to bridge the gap between abstract data and real-world recognition, showcasing her unique contribution to Geotab's culture of innovation.

Beyond her professional achievements, Azu finds joy and fulfillment in her personal life. When she has the time, she loves snowboarding and being creative. Her creative spirit extends beyond her hobbies, evident in her venture into writing.

Azu's book, a project born from a desire to understand her brother's unwavering happiness despite his bedridden condition from his battle with Multiple Sclerosis. The Happiest Person I Knew is a profound reflection of her brother’s life. "I wasn't initially planning on writing a book," she admits. "I wanted to see if the science of happiness could explain my brother's perspective. And it did." Her approach to the book, grounded in data and scientific principles, highlights the intersection of her professional and personal life. "My work at Geotab heavily influenced my approach to the book," she explains. "It’s about analyzing information and finding meaningful patterns." Part of the impact of Azu’s book is that all the proceeds from book sales go to the MS Society of Canada.

Her brother remains her primary inspiration, teaching her the importance of gratitude, service, and appreciating the present moment. "He taught me to live each day, enjoying what I have rather than longing for what I don't," Azu reflects. "He showed me the importance of being thankful and the power in helping others."

Azu's story is a powerful reminder that high performance professional growth and personal fulfillment can intertwine seamlessly. Her ability to leverage data, her dedication to innovation, and her commitment to sharing her brother's wisdom showcase the power of impact and inspiration.
