Certification Means Fleet Owners Now Have a New Option for Upgrading from 2G Cellular
TORONTO, Ontario - Geotab today announced that AT&T* has certified its GO7 telematics device for use on its nationwide 3G network. The certification gives fleet owners a powerful new option for upgrading to broadband cellular and ensuring wide, reliable service.
Designed for fleet management applications, the GO7 detects data from the engine, drivetrain, instrument cluster and other relevant subsystems. Geotab’s unique advanced technologies—including programmable CANBUS, OBD, J1708 connection pins, enhanced auto-protocol detection and accelerometer algorithms—make the GO7 expandable for future business application yet cost-effective for any fleet to install and maintain.
With this AT&T certification now complete, Geotab GO7 is now certified and available for use on all of the USA and Canada major cellular wireless carriers. Operator certification is a major milestone for telematics solutions because it enables those products to sell into a larger pool of potential customers who require specific geographic coverage.
Announced in October 2014, the GO7 is part of Geotab’s line of award-winning telematics solutions and has added a number of unique features such as automatic detection of odometer, seat belt, fuel consumption, engine faults, driver rating and other useful efficiency and safety measurements. The GO7 is an innovative plug-and-play device with no external wiring or antennas—eliminating installation and out-of-service vehicle time—significantly lowering installation costs and immediately improving fleets’ productivity. Combined with Geotab’s powerful fleet management software, MyGeotab, the GO7 is the world’s most sophisticated telematics solution.
“Fleet owners need fast, reliable connections and broad geographic coverage, including along remote, rural interstates,” said Neil Cawse, CEO, Geotab. “We continue to build on a very strategic relationship with AT&T in a variety of device verticals. AT&T’s certification of the GO7 enables fleet owners to leverage AT&T’s network to meet all of those needs. It’s the latest example of Geotab’s commitment to providing fleet owners with reliable, advanced solutions that take advantage of the best networks.”
The GO7 device is commercially available through an Authorized Geotab Reseller. For more information, please visit www.geotab.com.
