Geotab and Telefónica Provide Attendees with New In-Vehicle Telematics Experience; Geotab Earns Finalist Status in the “Mobile Innovation for Automotive” Category of the Global Mobile Awards

TORONTO & BARCELONA – Mobile World Congress, Hall 3, Stand 3J20 – March 2, 2015 – Geotab, an industry leading telematics engineering company, today announced that it will be showcasing its newest telematics technology and make it available to all attendees to experience a simulated end-to-end in-vehicle telematics solution. The company is providing its industry-leading simulation at Mobile World Congress 2015 together with Telefónica at its stand 3J20 in Hall 3.

The interactive display is designed to provide attendees with an in-vehicle driving experience, complete with verbal driver coaching, interactive buzzers and alerts, and driver identification tools. The display will detail the vehicle trip data in MyGeotab, the company’s cloud-based software platform, to indicate what the fleet manager or dispatcher sees back at the office. Features include productivity management, fleet optimization, driver safety, and compliance.

Geotab’s entire end-to-end solution, including the GO7 OBD-II hardware and MyGeotab software platform, has been named a finalist by the Global Mobile Awards judges in the category of “Mobile Innovation for Automotive.” The award ceremony, hosted by John Cleese, will take place from 14:30 - 16:30 on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in Hall 4, Auditorium 1 at the Fira Gran Via.

Surya Mendonça, the m2m Managing Director at Telefónica, said, “We’re thrilled that Geotab accepted our invitation to have a space in our booth at MWC this year. m2m is a growing market with great potential, and thanks to partners like Geotab, our customers have access to one of the most comprehensive suite of m2m solutions in Europe and around the world.”

Geotab provides one of the world’s only end-to-end telematics solutions designed for fleet management applications. The MyGeotab fleet management software paired with the all-new GO7 telematics device enables any company – from a small business to an enterprise – to track productivity, optimize their fleet, enhance driver safety, and achieve optimal compliance standards, while improving on and off road safety.

“Mobile World Congress 2015 is going to be an exciting show for Geotab,” said Neil Cawse, CEO, Geotab. “Between working with our partner, Telefónica, showing off our interactive demonstration and being named as a finalist of the Global Mobile Awards, Geotab is poised to take the show by storm and leave our mark on the m2m and mobile markets. We see this event as the kickoff to 2015, and it’s shaping up to be a very good year.”

In addition to its work with Telefónica, Geotab serves Fortune 500 companies, including 40% of the top ten fleets and 18% of the top 100 fleets in North America. For more information on Geotab’s end-to-end telematics solution, please visit www.geotab.com.
