Geotab announces new Developer Channel

Developers of M2M and IoT Applications for Business use of Telematics Now Have an Online Forum with Video Tutorial Content

Toronto, Ontario – July 15, 2015 Geotab, a leading global provider of premium quality, end-to-end telematics technology, today announced the launch of the Geotab DEV Channel. The Geotab DEV Channel is a video site that assists business software application developers in their use of the Geotab Software Development Kit (SDK). The DEV Channel complements the existing resources available to developers who want to leverage a world leading telematics tool.

 

"The Geotab DEV Channel is meant to encourage developers to focus not only on a leading dataset that collects over 600 million pieces of telematics data daily on behalf of 12,000 business customers, it helps connect developers to real world business problems to encourage building relevant applications or add-ons that the global business community is looking for," says Colin Sutherland, VP Global Sales for Geotab. “Developers are a key focus for Geotab in the ongoing pursuit of advancement and innovation across industries that utilize our telematics solution,” Colin Sutherland continues.

 

As an example of third party developers working with the Geotab, Navistar recently integrated Geotab data into the Navistar OnCommand Connection program and commended Geotab for having a very extensible API in terms of being able to attach new data points (PGN’s) to the feed as needs change. They viewed Geotab’s extensibility of data as timeless and for its ease-of use and will be showcased at the Geotab BUILD Marketplace Conference to happen at CTIA Wireless (Sept 9-11) together with several other third party applications that have been created using the Geotab SDK.

 

The new DEV Channel program is a further demonstration of Geotab’s commitment to providing customers with leading end-to-end telematics technology.
