TORONTO, ON (August 7, 2024) - Geotab Inc. (“Geotab”) is thrilled to announce that it has been named as a winner in the Business Intelligence Group’s 2024 Sustainability Awards. This award honors organizations worldwide that have made sustainability a core part of their business practices. The Geotab EV Suitability Assessment (EVSA) and the EV Infrastructure Assessment (EVIA) were recognized in the Business Intelligence Group’s Sustainability Product of Year category for their innovative approach and important role in addressing carbon emissions.

The Geotab EVSA:

  • has helped identify millions of dollars in potential cost savings through electrification;
  • delivers the data analysis needed to help fleets scale electrification, accelerate decarbonization and build business resilience; and
  • recently won a 2024 SEAL Sustainable Product Award for innovation and impact.

“The electrification journey can be challenging, and Geotab helps companies bridge the gap between business objectives and climate-friendly outcomes,” said Megan Allen, Senior Group Product Manager, Sustainability, Geotab. “Data-driven tools like the Geotab EVSA and EVIA provide the strategic insights companies need to make progress on their electrification and decarbonization goals.”

Simplifying the zero-emission transition

Simplifying the electric vehicle (EV) adoption planning process helps companies work towards their sustainability commitments, while satisfying customer and stakeholder demand for action on climate change. With Geotab, commercial fleets can obtain a personalized fleet electrification blueprint based on performance requirements, vehicle preference and charging opportunity, driven by real-world data.

EV Suitability Assessment (EVSA):

  • Identifies electrification candidates with real-world driving data, preferences and charging availability.
  • Provides reliable financial forecasts and comparisons to build an electrification business case.
  • Saves time by delivering local market best-fit EV model recommendations.

EV Infrastructure Assessment (EVIA):

  • Assesses on a site-by-site basis, optimal charging infrastructure and load impact projections based on the vehicles’ dwelling behavior.
  • Determines charging needs including optimal locations for siting EV infrastructure, the number of charging heads recommended and incremental power needs (kW) for every site.

Fleet electrification is one critical step organizations can take to protect the planet and mitigate the effects of climate change. As the fastest growing source of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), representing 27% of global emissions, the transportation sector has an important role to play in making progress toward broader decarbonization goals.

"At Geotab, they have put sustainability at the heart of everything they do," declared Russ Fordyce, Chief Executive Officer at Business Intelligence Group. "We're inspired by their dedication and excited to showcase the incredible work they're accomplishing."
