The 11th annual Cenex-LCV event, from 4 to 5 September, will bring together some of the biggest and best minds in the low-carbon vehicle industry. With a focus on electric vehicles (EVs), the event is an important piece in the future of the automotive industry. The conference will put a spotlight on the latest areas of development in the EV space, host seminars and networking opportunities, and even allow attendees to partake in an EV test drive.
With EV production on the rise and consumer and business perceptions of electric mobility changing for the better, there has never been a better time to talk about all things EVs and telematics. It is for these reasons that Geotab is proud to be a named sponsor of Cenex-LCV 2019.
Cenex-LCV 2019 is the United Kingdom’s premier low-carbon vehicle event and will offer a host of learning and business development opportunities. After much deliberation, here are Geotab’s picks for the three best parts of this year’s conference:
#1: Extensive seminar programme with over 130 presenters
With speakers talking about everything from low emission vehicles to policy and market trends, there will be a huge range of informative talks at Cenex-LCV. We encourage everyone to use the seminar timetables to plan out the sessions they want to attend to avoid missing out.
Geotab’s own Scott Leopold, Partner Account Manager at Geotab Waterloo, will be presenting during the conference. Scott will be discussing Geotab’s Charge the North study, which examined 1,000 EV owners, 25 EV models, and 10 utility companies in Canada, tracking their driving and charging behaviours over a two-year period. Charge the North is the most extensive study of its kind and provides insights into EV load profiles and what actions can help mitigate the need for costly infrastructure access.
Understanding load profiles will benefit any fleet manager looking to switch from traditional vehicles to EVs. Scott will explain how territory profiling can be used to predict a fleet’s electricity demand, letting fleet managers take preventative steps to minimise costs.
Scott will also discuss how the survey can help fleet managers in any country better understand where to start with fleet electrification. The seminar is a must-see for those wanting to know more and will be in the Energy Auditorium at 2 pm on 4 September. We hope to see you there.
#2: Testing the latest vehicle technology in a Ride & Drive
Cenex-LCV isn’t just about talking about the latest and greatest developments in low-carbon vehicle technology, but also getting hands-on experience with them in a range of environments. Visit the Ride & Drive area to take advantage of the venues three amazing circuits and put the latest EVs through their paces. Last year the vehicles available to test ranged from exploratory prototype vehicles to road-ready vans you can buy today; we can’t wait to see what exhibitors will choose to showcase this year.
Participation requires proof of a valid driver’s license. Find out more and book your drives here.
#3: The technology exhibition
2018 saw over 255 exhibitors, and 2019 is set to be bigger and better. Attendees can’t miss the technology exhibition, where they will get to explore the latest innovations from the brightest minds at the heart of fleet electrification.
Here at Geotab, we know that infrastructure is vital for enabling fleets to go electric. This is why we are especially excited to see CHAdeMO at this year’s Cenex-LCV. Fast charging is a vital part of making EVs the right choice for a broader range of individuals and organisations. The progress CHAdeMO has made on introducing a universal fast-charging protocol over the last decade has been substantial. With more than 25000 CHAdeMO charge points installed across five continents, we are looking forward to getting industry insight on the global state of EV adoption.
