Leading the way in fleet safety, Geotab has been recognised for its transformative telematics solutions that are improving road safety globally

London, 10th, December 2024 – Geotab, a global leader in connected transportation solutions, has won the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award in the “Technologies for the Safe System” category for a second year in a row. This recognition highlights Geotab’s ongoing commitment and approach to advancing road safety through data-driven insights, helping transform fleet management and significantly reduce road incidents worldwide.
The Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards, established in 1987, recognise organisations and innovations advancing road safety globally. Geotab has been recognised for its data-driven approach to safety, enhancing decision-making and empowering a proactive safety culture across the industry.
Geotab has made significant strides in enhancing driver safety across diverse industries with one of its customers achieving a 90% reduction in high-risk driver ratios and a 60% decrease in collisions since 2017. Geotab’s recent ‘2024 State of Commercial Transportation’ study found that fleets using Geotab’s safety features have also shown a 40% reduction in collision rates.
Aaron Jarvis, Associate Vice President, Sales and Business Development, EMEA of Geotab said: "Receiving this award for the second year in a row affirms our ongoing commitment to leveraging technology for safer roads. You can’t manage what you can’t measure, so we are dedicated to empowering fleet managers with the information they need to make effective improvements. Our solutions provide actionable insights that support the management and predictability of safety issues, while ensuring diver and community safety."
By integrating real-time data insights, Geotab’s comprehensive solutions extend beyond individual driver performance, focusing on optimising fleet management through efficient route planning, maintenance monitoring, and compliance assurance, contributing to safer roads and enhanced reliability across the fleet industry.
Geotab’s MyGeotab platform continuously monitors key measurements like driver behaviour, vehicle health, fuel efficiency and more. By gathering and analysing this data, MyGeotab enables fleet managers to proactively address maintenance issues, enhance driver safety, and reduce fuel usage. With a platform that is scalable, adaptable and available in ten different languages, Geotab is helping fleets of all sizes worldwide access the data needed to implement meaningful improvements to safety, sustainability and efficiency.
The Safety Centre within the MyGeotab platform leverages AI-driven predictive analytics, alerting fleet managers to potential risks and supporting a proactive, rather than reactive, approach to fleet safety. Fleet and safety managers can easily uncover and manage fleet performance risks, focusing their time on coaching and making operational decisions based on objective data and predictive collision analytics.
While the Safety Centre specialises in hazard prediction and risk assessment, Geotab’s generative artificial intelligence analytics tool, Geotab Ace, simplifies the understanding of data insights, functioning as a highly responsive AI copilot that enhances natural interaction with data. Focusing innovation on usability, Geotab refines the fleet manager's ability to adapt to evolving road conditions, seamlessly transforming data into decisive action. This dual emphasis on practical and interactive safety refinement ensures that Geotab's innovations meet and exceed contemporary fleet industry standards.
Through advanced data insights, innovative solutions, and an annual £80 million investment in research and development, Geotab is leading the way in road safety, setting a standard for fleet safety across the industry and making a lasting impact worldwide.
The annual award ceremony will take place at The Savoy in London on 10th December 2024, with approximately 300 guests attending including HRH Prince Michael of Kent, the road safety minister and international leading road safety professionals.
